Bio:
Jeff Hammond, also known as Dj Bassick, is no stranger to music. Born and raised in Flint, MI, he was the dj at local skating rinks by age 12. It was in 1991 where he began formal musical training playing the drums. He quickly excelled and began performing with local ska and punk bands.
It was in the mid 1990's during schooling at General Motors Institute that Bassick was introduced to the movement occurring in the underground of Detroit. Influenced by the Detroit rave scene, he beganimmersing himself into the various genres of electronic music.
In 1997 while studying in the UK Bassick began to define the unique sound that has catapulted his musical career. After returning to the states he held residencies at Detroit Science, Churchill's, Juniors and Club Nightingale opening for acts such as Frankie Bones, D-Wynn, Dj Dan, The Trouble Men, Simply Jeff and King Brit. He performed at legendary underground venues such as the Packard Plant, Firehouse, Bagley Optica and Mack & Bellevue.
Today his efforts are focused on embracing an ever evolving dance music scene with live dj performances, production, and artist managment through his label Disfresh Music.
